Rhythm

Rhythm can be described as timed movement through space; an easy, connected path along which the eye follows a regular arrangement of motifs. The presence of rhythm creates predictability and order in a composition. Visual rhythm may be best understood by relating it to rhythm sounds.I tried to show rhythm by an assimilation of pecans moving together in harmony

Variety

Variety is the complement to unity and is needed to create visual interest. Without unity, an image is chaotic and "unreadable;" without variety it is dull and uninteresting. Good design is achieved through the balance of unity and variety; the elements need to be alike enough so we perceive them as belonging together and different enough to be interesting. I tried showing variety by having a variety of bow ties moving and eventually I'll select one

Balance

Balance “is an equal distribution of weight” (Linda, 2006) or “objects are of equal weight, they are in balance” (Skaalid,1999). There are a few different types of balance. I tried to show balance by balancing a coffee table on top of my couch with two blankets, a bike pump, a volley ball and two outside chairs

Focal Point

Focal point refers to the part of the design that is most emphasize. Many adjustments can be made to accentuate any element in a design such as shape, position, size, color, value, direction, and even texture. I tried to demonstrate focal point using this white board and getting the camera as eyes to follow the movement of my marker on the white board

Unity

Unity is the relationship among the elements of a visual that helps all the elements function together. I tried to demonstrate unity by having my lacrosse pads come from different parts of the house and all converge on to me

Scale and Proportion

For Scale and Proportion, I chose a picture I took at the Badlands National Park in South Dakota. Standing a top a mountain its almost like you can pick up the trees with your hands. I took a picture of Mount Rushmore and it appears to be the same size as the people in the crowd
